Dream Zone

Dear Lauri,

I am thirty-six-weeks pregnant, and I have a recurring dream that I’m running really late to get my oldest daughter from school, but everything gets in the way of me leaving. First my car doesn’t start; then my fingers won’t work to dial the school’s number to let them know. Once the car is started, I crash halfway there and never make it.

— Amy, 24, Plantersville, TX

Lauri: The whole theme of your dream is you rushing around before time runs out. I’m betting this has to do with your concern over accomplishing something or fitting something in before the baby comes because that is quite a ticking time bomb you have. Are you worried that once the baby comes you won’t have enough quality time with your daughter?

Amy replies: I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I am with her 3–8pm every night. But I also have a two-year-old son, so sometimes I feel as if I don’t get enough alone time with my daughter like I used to. It was just the two of us for the first four years of her life. She’s six now.
